State to celebrate its 19th year of foundation on November 15

Jharkhand- the land of forests is ready to celebrate its 19th year of constitution on November 15. With a series of events planned for the day concluding with a glittering cultural evening, the State is ready to make its entry in the 20th year on Friday.

The programme for the Statehood Day will commence at 9 am by paying a floral tribute at the mausoleum of Bhagwan Birsa Munda located at Kokar. Governor Droupadi Murmu along with Chief Minister Raghubar Das will pay their tributes to the tribal leader. The dignitaries will then offer garlands to the statue of the martyr at Birsa Chowk at around 9:30 am.

The State celebrates its foundation day on the occasion of the birth anniversary of tribal leader Birsa Munda also known as Bhagwan Birsa who played a vital role in India’s struggle for freedom.

On the occasion of the foundation day, 60 police officers and personnel were awarded medals for their exemplary service.

The officers were given the Governor’s Medal, Chief Minister’s Gallantry Medal and the Jharkhand Police Medal for meritorious work at the JAP Ground, Doranda. The chief guest for the occasion was Chief Secretary DK Tiwari while DGP Kamal Nayan Choubey and other senior officials were also present.

“With the upcoming elections, the model code of conduct has been imposed across the State. Because of the model code of conduct imposed, The Chief Minister will not address any gatherings and no new schemes will be launched,” said the Chief Secretary.

Tiwari further added since Jharkhand was carved out of the southern part of Bihar in the year 2000, the State is slowly but steadily headed towards development and has also fulfilled the expectation of the people to a great extent.

To continue the celebrations, a glittering musical extravaganza has been planned for the evening of November 15 at Morabadi Ground, Ranchi. Popular playback singer from the Hindi film industry Sukhwider Singh will enthrall the residents of Ranchi with his foot tapping music.

As many as 200 invitations have been sent tout to the heads of various departments for the cultural evening.

An array of cultural programmes portraying the rich art and culture of the State. Local folk singer Mukund Nayak and Ranchi based band- Highway 69 will also mesmerize the audience.
