Chhattisgarh’s State Election Commissioner Thakur Ram Singh said a review meeting has been called on November 14 at 4 pm at Aranya Bhawan, Atal Nagar, Nava Raipur as part of preparation for upcoming polls for a civic bodies and three-tier panchayat election.
Singh when contacted said all the district collectors and superintendents of police have been called to review the preparation for the civic bodies followed by a three-tier panchayat election in state.
He added that after the review meeting dates for announcement of election scheduled will be finalised. Chief Secretary R P Mandal and Director General of Police D. M. Awasthi will also be present in the meeting.
SEC said the main agenda of the meeting is to review status of preparation and get feedback from collectors on election process till date and from SPs about the law and order status.
It is to be noted that after R P Mandal has taken over as chief secretary it would be his major meeting with all the district collectors and SPs of the state. He is likely to also conduct administrative review of different schemes of state government and seek the updates.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh’s assembly session is scheduled from November 25 in which 10 sittings of the assembly will be held till December 6. The election programme for polls for civic bodies and panchayats are likely to be announced after the session.
