In the Vasu murder case at Children Home Academy situated in Ranipokhri area of Dehradun, the State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) has submitted a letter to the office of Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to investigate the case once again from his level. According to the letter, there are discrepancies in the timelines mentioned in the reports sent by hospital where the post-mortem of deceased Vasu was performed and the police investigation report of the case.
Personal secretary of SCPCR chairperson, Kamal Gupta said that in the police investigation the school authorities were only accused of negligence. The doctors also said that Vasu, when admitted to the hospital was vomiting profusely. However the question is that when Vasu evidently had external bleeding also and it was clear from the his appearance that he was beaten up, why did it take the district police 16 days to register the case. He further said that since the starting of this case investigation certain aspects were ignored which automatically raise suspicion on the school, the hospital where he was treated and the local police involved.
It is important to mention here that after the death of another minor in the school recently, the SCPCR chairperson Usha Negi had alleged that the school burial ground might be a sign of trafficking in human body parts, but the officials probing the allegation have ruled out the possibility.
It is also important to mention here that earlier this year in the month of March the school concerned came on the radar of the authorities after it was accused of covering up a murder inside the school premises.
