Sarangi wants Rasgovindpur Airport revived

Monday, 29 July 2019 | PNS | BARIPADA

Baleswar MP and Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Pratap Chandra Sarangi has urged Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri for construction of an airport at Rasgovindpur in Mayurbhanj district.

Saraning has written a letter to Puri in this regard. He mentioned that Rasgovindpur, 40 km from Baripada, had earlier an airstrip which was used for defence purposes but it was neglected later.

People of the region have been demanding for long that the airstrip should

be revived with all modern facilities.

“Once the airport becomes functional, it will accelerate the pace of development in Mayurbhanj and

Baleswar districts, he pointed out.

He further mentioned that Mayurbhanj, at present, has no airport, and, thus, people have a strong yearning to see the Rasgovindour airport “back in life” again.

Sarangi urged the Minister to take all steps to revive the airport at the earliest.
