The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has not included any stretch of National Highway in Odisha for development in its new pan-India list.
The NHAI has identified stretches of about 950 km to be developed at a total cost of Rs.30,000 crore in the eight States of Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
However, it has not taken Odisha into consideration even as Many stretches of different National Highways are in a bad condition.
The officials say that these stretches have been selected on the basis of consultation with the perspective bidders. The NHAI has already invited the proposal for annual pre-qualification to make these stretches 4/6 laning.
