Electricity tariffs for domestic and other consumers and transmission tariff would remain unchanged for the current financial year 2019-20, informed the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) on Tuesday.
The Kutir Jyoti consumers would continue to pay Rs 80 for consumption of 30 units of power.
“The Retail Supply Tariff (STF) will remain unchanged for domestic consumers, commercial and industrial units for the year 2019-20,” a notification of the OERC said.
The commission, which could not notify electricity tariff proceedings in view of model code of conduct, finally issued its notice on Tuesday.
Like the last fiscal, the consumers have to pay tariff at Rs 2.50 per unit for the first 50 units, Rs 4.30 per unit for consumption above 50 units upto 200 units, Rs 5.30 per unit for consumption above 200 to 400 units and Rs 5.70 per unit for consumption above 400 units.
In order to promote digital payments, the Commission has announced to provide two per cent rebate to consumers on online bill payments. Earlier, it was 1 per cent.
It said there has been an average decrease of approximately 2 per cent in Bulk Supply Tariff for all distcoms and the transmission tariff for FY 2019-20 remains unchanged.
Poultry farms with attached feed units having connected load less than 20 per cent of the total connected load of poultry farms will be treated as allied agricultural activities for tariff purpose.
Food processing unit attached to cold storage shall be charged at agro-industrial tariff if cold storage load is above 80 per cent of the entire connected load.
Educational institutions (public purpose) with attached hostel and/or residential colony who draw power through a single meter in HT shall be eligible for HT bulk supply domestic billing for 15 per cent of their energy drawal.
