MCL CSR: New building for Phuljharan Ashram

Wednesday, 20 November 2019 | PNS | SAMBALPUR

The Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) would construct a new building for the Phuljharan Ashram, an old age home on the outskirts of Sambalpur as part of its CSR initiatives.

Jagriti Mahila Mandal president Manjula Shukla on Tuesday laid the foundation-stone for the proposed building named “Red Cross Parbati Giri Matru Bhawan”, Phuljharan, which is to be built by the MCL at a cost of Rs 72.76 lakh. The building, with all modern facilities for comfort of elderly and destitute women, would have 12 rooms and four bathrooms and toilets. The project is expected to be completed in six months.

The MCL, being the top contributor in Odisha under CSR, has remained actively involved in carrying out social welfare activities in and around its operational areas.
