Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Monday said that till date around 33 lakh women have been freed from the suffocation of smoke and linked with Ujjwala Yojana.
During a meeting of twenty point implementation committee on Monday Das directed the officials to link the remaining deserving families to the scheme in the month of September. "Under Ujjwala Scheme we have to provide a gas stove, and first and second cylinder refill for free to the beneficiaries," he said.
Addressing the officials Das said that they should work on war footing just like earlier to link the remaining beneficiaries. "Working in coordination with village, panchayat, block and district level will help achieving the target sooner," he said.
The CM directed the officials to take help from Ujjwala didis deployed at Panchayat level to complete the work. "The Ujjwala Didis have been told to link the missing beneficiaries earlier as well. They also have to inform the beneficiaries on safe use of LPG cylinders for which these Ujjwala Didis are being trained," he said.
Das asked toe officials to review the work of village, panchayat and block level on a daily basis. He said, "Only then will the State be able to achieve the target of linking all beneficiaries of Ujjwala Scheme by September 30." The CM said that Jharkhand is the only State in country which gives out not just free stove but also the first and second refill of cylinder free of cost to the beneficiaries.
"Ensuring that LPG connection reaches the poor women of every community, caste and religion is among the priorities of the Government," he said.
