KP richer than Mahesh, Rudra in Dhenkanal

Kings and queens are generally known for their palaces, properties and jewelleries even though the crown is not there. But Congress nominee for Dhenkanal Parliamentary seat, former Union Minister and royal scion KP Singh Deo’s total property is worth Rs 15 crore. He does not have much of jewellery too.

Singh Deo represents the 18th generation of the Dhenkanal royal family. He is a 6th- time MP from Dhenkanal and worked as a Union Minister twice.  But as per the information he has furnished in his nomination papers, he seems not be so rich, with properties worth Rs 15 crore while he and his queen have gold and jewellery of 1kg worth Rs 62 lakh. Singh Deo is not involved in any criminal cases.

On the other hand, BJD nominee Mahesh Sahu has declared in his nomination papers that he and his wife are the owner of more than Rs1crore movable and unmovable properties. Sahu has been elected to Assembly from Talcher as BJP nominee thrice and once from Pallahara as BJD nominee. Besides, Sahu remained chairperson of Angul District Planning Committee. Wife of Sahu is in Government job. Sahu though has not been penalized for any criminal case, yet a case is pending against him at Samal Police Station since 2008.

However, BJP nominee for Dhenkanal Parliamentary constituency Rudra Narayan Pany has declared that he possesses no unmovable property. He is the owner of movable property worth Rs 79,000. Pany is a two-time Rajya Sabha member. Though he is not yet convicted in any case, but five cases are under trial against him.

One Pradyumna Kumar Naik of Baunsha Patna of Dhenkanal town has filed nomination papers as BSP nominee for the Dhenkanal Parliamentary constituency.
