Janata Exp, Upasana Exp to be cancelled this week

Monday, 15 April 2019 | PNS | Dehradun

Passengers travelling from Dehradun to Varanasi and Ujjain will have to face difficulty for some time.

The Dehradun-Varanasi Janata Express (14266) has been cancelled from April 16 to 24. Passengers travelling from Dehradun to Howrah too will not be able to board Upasana Express (12328) on April 17 and 20.

According to the station superintendent of Dehradun railway station the cancellation of these two trains on the said dates is due to the double line construction work happening near Lucknow-Raebareli railway track.

Providing information about the cancellation of these trains station superintendent Sitaram Sonkar said on Sunday, “Trains from different areas are getting affected by the double line construction work that’s been happening near Lucknow-Raebareli railway track. From Dehradun, two trains have been cancelled this week. Janata express will be cancelled from April 16 to 24. Another one is Upasana Express, which will be cancelled on two days, April 17 and 20.”

When asked that when these trains are set to resume he said, “Hopefully

the construction work will be done within the time frame. In the meanwhile passengers can use Howrah Express as an alternate medium.”

It is pertinent to mention here that Janata Express runs from Dehradun to Varanasi via Haridwar, Moradabad, Bareilly, Hardoi and Lucknow. The Upasana Express runs from Dehradun to

Howrah via Varanasi, Patna and Jhajha.
