Disciplinary action was taken on Saturday against three police personnel in connection with the death of a man in custody of the Dharuadihi police station in Sundargarh district.
Sundargarh Superintendent of Police (SP) Saumya Mishra suspended ASI Binod Chandra Patel and two Constables, Baikuntha Nayak and Jayram Madhel, attached to the police station. It may be mentioned that a special team of the Sundargarh police had arrested one Sunil Lodhi from Sagar of Madhya Pradesh on the charge of buying a girl from Sundargarh district and later marrying her forcibly.
Lodhi was supposed to be produced before court on July 20 but was found dead the previous night with ligature mark in his neck.
