A High power committee, constituted by the state government to decide the fate of an under-construction skywalk in the capital city, deliberated on the possible future of the controversial structure.
The meeting held at Mahanadi Bhawan in Nava Raipur was chaired by Chief Secretary Sunil Kujur.
The committee comprised private technical experts, officials of government departments like Department of Public Works and Town and Country Planning as well as district collector and superintendent of police.
Engineer-in-Chief Public Works Department, D.K. Agrawal informed The Pioneer that this was preliminary round of meeting of the committee and that the meeting remained inconclusive as there was differences of opinions among the experts.
On a query whether the committee also discussed on dismantling the structure as it was creating hindrance in normal traffic at the hub of the city, the official said the committee had all the options open and razing the structure was also a possible alternative.
According to information some of the experts were of the view that in a bid to save the public money from being wasted, the structure might be converted into a foot over bridge instead of dismantling it.
