Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Sunday said that people living in India and abroad are celebrating International Gita Mahotsav 2019 with great enthusiasm.
He said that International Gita Mahotsav will be held in Australia from March 20 to 22.
The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering in a programme organized at Red Fort Ground in New Delhi. On the occasion, Haryana Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Zubin Irani, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, Yoga Gurus, Baba Ramdev and Morari Bapu conveyed their messages at Gita Prerna Mahotsav, 2019.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the State Government is working to develop Kurukshetra into a holy magnificent city at the international level.
He said that the pilgrimage sites of Mahabharata located in the ancient region of 48 kos of Dharmakshetra Kurukshetra are being developed in a grand manner.
The work is also being going on to renovate the ancient religious sites located on the origin and flow route of the ancient Saraswati River, he said.
Manohar Lal said that in collaboration with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, work is also being done to drain the water from the ground water source of the ancient Saraswati River to the flow path of the Saraswati River on the ground again.
The Chief Minister further said that International Gita Mahotsav was also held in Mauritius and United Kingdom.
The Chief Minister said that a research center is being set up in Kurukshetra by Global Inspiration and Enlightenment Organization of Bhagwad Gita(GIEO and GITA), New Delhi. One Bharat Mata Temple will also be built in five acres of land in Kurukshetra. Facilities are also being expanded in Kurukshetra in view of the increasing number of devotees on the occasion of solar eclipse and on other religious occasions, he added.
