Expensive valuables burgled from Tagore Colony

Valuables worth lakhs of rupees were burgled from Tagore Colony under Gandhi Nagar police station area on Tuesday.

Police said that the victim Gaurav Jain along with his family had gone to Mumbai where he was informed that his house was targeted by miscreants and escaped with valuables. After receiving the information victim returned and found that gold and silver jewelry and Rs 6000 cash were burgled.

The victim approached the police and a complaint was lodged in which the victim stated that they left for Indore on July 24 to attend a family event and after two days they went to Mumbai where on July 29 they were informed that house has been burgled. On Tuesday the victim returned and lodged complaint.

Victim claimed that almirah of his wife was targeted and gold and silver and Rs 6000 cash were burgled. The burgled jewelry could not ascertain which would of lakhs of rupees and after checking by the family members loss would be provided. Even after the locks of the main gates were broken the neighbours have expressed ignorance over the burglary. Victim works as an engineer.

Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation. During the further investigation CCTV cameras installed in the area and nearby areas would be investigated.

Meanwhile, a mobile phone worth Rs 21000 was stolen from a bus in the evening on Tuesday; a complaint was registered with the MP Nagar police. The victim OP Sharma was targeted by pick pockets who escaped with mobile phone. Police have registered a case under section 379 of the IPC.
