A kiosk, as part of eCourt services to enable people to know the status of their cases, was inaugurated in the sub-judge court complex at Khariar on Friday.
Nuapada District and Sessions Judge Ashim Kumar Dalabehera inaugurated the kiosk in the presence of Sub-judge Dr Sanghamitra Dash, Judicial Magistrate First Class Shradha Mandothia and advocates and court staffers.
“It will help people know about the status of case, including the judgements and hearing dates,” said the District Judge after inauguration.
“Information on adjourned dates and other case related details would be displayed on the eKiosk after entering case number, type and year,” informed System Assistant, Ashok Jena, who further added that status of each case would be updated immediately after hearing.
It is learnt that the kiosk also has provisions to view judgments once the verdict is uploaded on to the court server.
“The inauguration of the touch screen e-kiosk is another addition to the Sub-Judge Court’s infrastructure,” said senior lawyer Bhabesh Panigrahi.
