Heritage Aviation company is slated to start air service from Dehradun to Pithoragarh on January 17. On the same day it will also start air service from Pantnagar in Udham Singh Nagar district to Pithoragarh.

According to officials, a ticket on the Dehradun-Pithoragarh flight will cost Rs  1,570 while the flight will take about an hour to reach Pithoragarh after taking off from Dehradun at 9:30 AM.

Tourism secretary and Civil Aviation secretary in-charge Dilip Jawalkar that this will be the second air-service to be launched under the Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme for the convenience of people residing in the areas along the borders with Nepal and China.

The journey which takes people 12 to 16 hours by road or train will be complete in an hour by air. Tickets will be booked online.

Meanwhile, the Pantnagar airport director Sanjeev Kumar Singh said that Heritage Aviation company will also start operation of air service on the Pantnagar-Pithoragarh-Pantnagar route. This is the second air-service to be launched from Pantnagar airport within a month under the UDAN scheme. A 30-minute journey on this route will cost Rs 1,410 per ticket. Singh further informed that depending on the number of passengers, the company is also seriously considering the operation of new 20-seater aircraft on the route.

A company official informed that initially the company will use new nine-seater aircraft on this route for daily flights.

Flight number 4H-103 will depart from Pantnagar at 11:30 AM and reach Naini Saini airport in Pithoragarh at about 12 PM. Flight number 4H-102 is slated to depart from Pithoragarh at 10:40 AM and reach Pantnagar at 11:10 AM.

Further, flight number 4H-101 will depart from Dehradun at 9:30 AM and reach Pithoragarh at 10:20 AM while 4H-104 will depart from Pithoragarh at 12:20 PM and reach Dehradun at 1:10 PM.
