Differences have cropped up between Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij and Chief Minister's Office (CMO) over raids conducted in Regional Transport offices by the CM’s flying squad on Monday with the assistance of police without informing the Home Department and Police chief.
Home Minister Anil Vij also expressed his displeasure over transfer of nine senior IPS officers as he was not consulted in their transfer.
While talking to reporters, Vij said, “I was not informed in the transfer of nine IPS officers.”
On Monday, Haryana government took major action against alleged irregularities in Regional Transport offices. Raids were conducted in the RTO offices of all the districts in the state since Monday morning. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has asked the officers for the report to be submitted by Monday evening.
The CM Flying Squad carried out the raids, headed by CID Chief Anil Kumar Rao. Raids were conducted at RTO of Bahadurgarh, where officials were absent. Empty bottles of liquor were recovered from the RTO office in Rewari, sources said. Officers and personnel were apparently found missing during the raid in Sonipat. Raids were also conducted in Narnaul and officers and personnel were not found on duty.
Sources said that Home Minister was not informed though CM Flying Squad took assistance of police while conducting raids at RTOs. Vij is reported to have expressed disappointment as he was not informed about the same.
Sources said that regarding transfer of nine IPS officers, controversy surfaced after Vij did not agree on the list of the transfers. Shortly after his disagreement, transfer orders were issued.
On December 28, a copy of the proposed transfer list was sent to Home Minister Vij. When the list reached him, he immediately sent an answer to deputy secretary. He returned the list with suggestions. Even after this, transfer orders were issued, which Vij has apparently objected to.
