Chief Minister Kamal Nath has given instructions for direct recruitment of experts in government hospitals in order to strengthen the health facilities. He said that people have the right to good health. All policy initiatives must focus on this. Nath was reviewing the activities of Public Health Family Welfare Department at Mantralay here on Thursday. Minister for Health Tulsi Silavat also attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister said that in the interest of patients especially those coming from the rural areas, the consultation timing in government hospitals should be fixed from 9 am to 4 pm. He asked for setting up of Diagnostic Centers at hospital premises with private sector collaboration in the interest of patients. He stressed the need for better coordination between the Departments of Medical Education and Public Health and Family Welfare. He asked the concerning authorities to make special efforts to secure maximum funds for health care under the Corporate Social Responsibility Fund.
Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that well designed initiatives should be taken to improve health indicators. Reducing maternal and infant mortality should be given top priority. The Chief Minister gave instructions to ensure faculty positions in private nursing colleges. Giving instructions to ensure availability of doctors and expert services for the patients, the Chief Minister said that continuing upgrading the health facilities is a must for achieving the status of Healthy Madhya Pradesh.
