On the eve of Christmas, the beautifully sculptured British pattern Christ church constructed in 1823 is seen glittering and is attracting the attention of hundreds of passerby. It is situated on the military road known as Mall road Mhow. Mhow has around a dozen churches in Mhow Tehsil area.
According to records available in Mhow Cantonment Board, the first Prime Minister of England Sir Winston Churchill was posted as an officer in British army and during his posting and stay at Mhow cantonment board area in between the year 1896 and 1898 he use to visit this church every day.
During his stay in Mhow, he lived in the bungalow no 59 which is opposite to this church on the mall road now known as Joggers park.
Indore Collector Lokesh Jatav told The Pioneer that the plan for the development of Mhow as a complete picnic spot is under preparation and few things like boating, sailing, flying and tracking has already been started in Mhow rural area.
