Friday, 05 April 2019 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Two sharpshooters of alleged Neeraj Bawana gang were arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police on Thursday. With their arrest, police claimed to have worked out two murder cases.

The accused identified as Monu Singh (23) and Naseeb Singh (25), both residents of Haryana, were close associates of Neeraj Bawana, they said.

“The duo were arrested on March 28 from near Jal Vihar abus terminal in Lajpat Nagar after a brief scuffle. One loaded pistol of .32 calibers containing five live cartridges in its magazine was recovered from the possession of Monu and one loaded country made pistol along with live cartridges was recovered from possession of Naseeb Singh,” said Pramod Singh Kushwah, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP),  Special Cell.

“On February 2, Monu along with his associates Praveen, Aman and Parveen Hooda had kidnapped one Harish Hooda from the Tilak Nagar area of Rohtak. Harish was real uncle of Praveen Hooda. Praveen had hired Naseeb and Monu to kill Harish as they had some financial dispute within the family, “ said the DCP.

“After killing Harish Hudda, they met Praveen at Nathupura, Burari who asked them to kill one Monu because Parveen suspected that Ramratan Pradhan and his son Monu provide logistic support to the gang members of Neetu Dabodiya who was opposed to Neeraj Bawana,” said the DCP.

“On February 9, Naseeb, Monu, Lokesh and Praveen met in Nathupura and Lokesh said that he knows Monu personally and he can call him anywhere. Then they reached Sultanpur Dabas and at the tubewell in fields of Ramratan where his son, Monu was already present. Monu, Nasib and Lokesh shot him dead and fled away,” the DCP said.

“Accused Naseeb was earlier involved in a case of Arms Act and firing on a local criminal in Aman Vihar area where he along with Parveen and other associates attempted to extort money from a local gambler,” the DCP added.
