The youngters are learning different styles of garba in a 15 day long garba dance workshop.
The participants are now rehearsing for final performance. The performance will be held on Friday.
The workshop is much enjoyed by the dance lovers.
The Garba dance workshop is being held at Utkal Bhavan where the participants are learning different garba styles. Here at the workshop the participants are learning the Gujarati rhythms and traditional songs.
While talking about the garba workshop, Shruti Kirti said, “We organize this event every year so that youngsters could also learn about different festivals of the country. We endeavour to provide children with best knowledge of traditional dance, music and other forms of activities through organising training programmes and workshops.”
She further said that a presentation will also be held on the last day of the workshop.
It is to be noted that the Garba workshop is being organised by Chaitanya Socio Cultural Group at Utkal Bhavan. Under the 15 day long workshop, the youngsters are performing at traditional and folk steps of garba performance.
Choreographer and director of Chaitanya Cultural Socio Group Shruti Kirti Barik is training the participants in garba.
During the workshop, she is teaching the participants about the different dance steps of dandiya and garba on traditional garba songs. They will also learn Krishna Leela, Holi and other forms in this workshop.
