For the sports enthusiasts, a two-month summer camp ‘Summer sports training Camp’ is being organised at TT Nagar stadium. The camp is being organised by State Sports Department.
The summer camp which has begun from April 15 will conclude on June 15, 2019. This year, in 15 different sports, the children will be trained by training their children. Registration Form TT for admission can be obtained from the stadium office located at the city stadium.
SL Thhoussen, Director, Sports and Youth Welfare, said that summer camp is being organized with the aim of providing better opportunities to the children in the field of sports and to improve their skills to become talented sportspersons. He told that selected players through the summer camp can avail the boarding and de-boarding scheme run by the sports department.
This year golf, fitness programme and Martial arts festival from Manipur has also been included in the summer camp. The camp will be conducted under the guidance of Ranbir Singh Laisram. He is the member of World Fanoba Federation.
Director Sports and Youth Welfare S. L. Thoussen told that the fee for the camp is Rs 800. The summer camp is a good opportunity for the kids to display their talent and also prepare themselves for the upcoming national and international training camps.
Notably, two T-shirts are being provided to the children by the Department this year. Such children of BPL (living below poverty line) families who want to get training in prescribed sports are being given fifty percent discount in the fee. More than one hundred trainers have been appointed to provide training in various camps at Summer Camp. Sports director Thousen described the summer camp event as a golden opportunity for the children and said summer camps have proved to be very helpful in the preparation of national and international players.
The games in which the participants will be trained during the summer camp at the city stadium include basketball, badminton, karate, tennis, soccer, Mallakhamb, boxing, chess boxing, skating, athletics, kabaddi, gymnastics, volleyball, aerobics and billiard-snooker games.
