As many as 37 students of MPhil in English, Political Science, Odia and Commerce of the 2017 batch of the Maharaja Purna Chandra (MPC) Autonomous College under the North Odisha University (NOU) have demanded publication of the examination results at the soonest.
The students said they had been selected on August 2, 2017 and submitted all requisite fees duly and have completed the first semester.
Even after the submission of the research papers for final viva-voce test for dissertation, conducted by the college under the supervision of respective guides, the results are yet to be published, they pointed out.
They alleged that for a one-year course, they have to spend about two years, for which they may be deprived of jobs.
They also stated that the main problem is between the NOU and the MPC College regarding the UGC guidelines.
Again after taking mental stress and spending a lot of money they had submitted their research paper again in February 2019 but even after five months the result is yet to be published, they added.
A student said, “We have applied for SSB for Lectureship; and in the application forms, we have mentioned regarding the completion of the MPhil course, and many have passed the written examination. But as we have not obtained our certificates, we are deprived of giving the viva-voce.”
The students also threatened that if the results are not published by July 14, they would stage a dharna in front of the college.
