3 killed in fiery crash in los Angeles
los Angeles: A fiery crash in los Angeles has left three people dead and three others critically injured. Authorities say two vehicles collided on Saturday in South los Angeles and burst into flames. Officials say an infant, a child and an adult all were pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people including a child were taken to area hospitals in critical condition.
UN team arrives in Bangladesh
Cox’s Bazar: A UN Security Council delegation has arrived in Bangladesh to visit Rohingya refugee camps and discuss the crisis with local officials. The visit comes amid the delayed repatriation of some 7,00,000 Rohingya Muslim refugees who fled to Bangladesh from Myanmar to escape military-led violence. The team arrived in the coastal town of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.
lankan PreZ grants amnesty to 432 prisoners
Colombo: Sri lankan President Maithripala Sirisena granted amnesty to 432 prisoners on Sunday in view of Vesak festival celebrated by the Buddhists in the country, a spokesman here said on Sunday. Department of Prisons Spokesman Thusara Upuldeniya told Xinhua news agency the President granted amnesty for the prisoners convicted of minor offences.
The spokesman said they were held in 29 prisons in the country.
