Air Marshal RK Dhir, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief stationed at headquarters of South Western Air Command (SWAC) Gandhinagar has been appointed by the Gujarat Government as adviser of defense aerospace industries on Saturday.
The Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has given him appointment letter to join the State Government as adviser from Monday, October 1, 2018. A senior official in the Rupani government said that in the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit to be held in January 2019, the State Government would give major thrust to defense and aerospace industry. In this context, Dhir’s expertise and his long association with Indian Air Force would help to attract investments in the State in defence sector, said the official.
Meanwhile, a day long Commanders' Conclave was organised at Headquarters SWAC Gandhinagar on Sunday. All Commanders of units located in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra attended the conclave. The conclave was addressed by Air Marshal Dhir. During his address the Air Marshal appreciated the efforts of various units for their noteworthy performance in different spheres. Commanders along with senior officers from Administration and Maintenance Branches gave presentations on their respective expertise.
