This was stated by Minister of State for labour and Employment, Nayab Singh during one-day workshop on Child labour organised by Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights on the occasion of World Day against Child labour, here on Tuesday.

He directed the officers to inform the owners of brick kilns, shops and houses, the legalities against engaging child labourers as strict legal action would be taken against them for this purpose.

The Minister also urged the social organisations and the NGOs in the state to come forward for the success of this campaign. There are about 69 child care homes in the state for orphaned children, he added.

Giving new slogan 'Bacha Padhega, Desh Badhega', the Minister said that the State Government has initiated number of schemes for the education of children of labourers. Parents of such children would also be encouraged towards making their children educated so that they could have a prosperous future.

The State Government would initiate a special campaign for registration of all labourers in the state so that they could avail benefits of the schemes of the Department, he added.
