Sunday, 22 July 2018 | Staff Reporter | Raipur

The All India Motor Transport Association country-wide strike over the hike in petrol-diesel rates is crossed 24 hours but still no talks have been initiated, states Congress in a statement.

The Congress states that the Modi government is not serious on the issue and the government is waiting for a massive repercussions. The government has been speaking of bringing down the inflation but if such situation continues then things would go out of hand.

Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee further stated that with hike in petroleum products already the common man is finding it difficult with hike in all products and transport. The school bus rent, transport services and taxies are already charging high. The people who are totally dependent on bus transport with hiked rates is also causing dent in their pocket.

With the strike of trucks to continue, it would spiral the daily use consumable goods rate.

The demand raised by the vehicle owners is valid that the rates of fuel be brought down, the whole country should be free from toll barriers, transparency in third party insurance premium and relaxation in GST, payment to agents through comprehensive policy, withdrawing TDS among others.
