A training programme on the Incident Response System (IRS) was organised by the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (UKSDMA) at Max Hospital here on Friday.
The training programme was part of the capacity building exercise by the UKSDMA to train people on ways to deal with a disaster.
The training was coordinated by Senior Consultant and Head, Department Of Emergency and Trauma, Dr Pankaj Jhaldiyal and was headed by the Incident Response Specialist at UKSDMA, B B Gadnayak.
Addressing the programe Gadnayak said that he believes that this strategic association of Max hospital with the UKSDMA will play a very significant role in managing disasters of any kind in Dehradun. He added that people of the state live in seismic zone which is prone to high magnitude earthquakes.
Dr Jhaldyal said that the Max hospital has taken the initiative to provide aid and support during any crisis. “This training will help in getting us prepared so that we can face the times of disasters much better and in a more organised manner,’’ he said.
The training programme was attended by the Vice President and unit head of Max hospital Dr Sandeep Singh Tanwar, Medical Superintendent (MS) fire and safety department of Max hospital, Dr Rahul Prashad, nurses and other staff members.
