The Manohar lal Khattar Government in Haryana will organize a state level Shradhanjali Sabha on August 24 at Rohtak to pay tribute to the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The moral remains of veteran BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee would be immersed in rivers at Kaithal’s Pehowa and Yamunanagar’s Hathnikund, said Rajiv Jain, media advisor to Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister Manohar lal will perform the rituals of immersing the mortal remains of former PM at both rivers in the state, he said.

Vajpayee, 93, had died at AIIMS in New Delhi following prolonged illness on August 16.

The BJP had recently announced that the mortal remains of BJP stalwart would be immersed in rivers across 29 states and seven union territories covering 98 cities.

In Haryana, 'Asthi Kalash Yatra' to pay homage to the former Prime Minister will be held on August 22 and 23. First 'Asthi Kalash Yatra' would be held from Bahadurgarh to Hathnikund covering Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Indri, ladwa while second yatra will be held from Bahadurgarh to Pehowa covering Rohtak, Jind and Kaithal.

Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma and Haryana BJP president Subhash Barala will lead the yatras at Hathikund and Pehowa respectively.

Earlier, Haryana Government had held ‘Shraddhanjali Sabhas’ across the state on August 19, to pay homage to Bharat Ratna,  Vajpayee.

The government has also decided to name a big project after the name of the former PM. The state mourning is being observed for seven days from August 16 to 22.

In neighboring Punjab, the mortal remains of Vajypayee would be immersed in Sutlej at Ferozepur and ludhiana and in Beas in Amritsar district.

The ashes of former PM will be brought to Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana on August 22.

BJP state general secretary Chandra Shekhar said that “Asthi VisarjanYatra“  will reach the old Airport Chowknear Behalana Raipur Khurd on August 22 and pass through Sectors 29,30,20,21,22,37, 36,35,34 and finally would reach BJP state headquarter Kamalam 33 and will be kept for public darshan till  August 23.
