Senior officials of the Indian Railways visited the Bhilai Steel Plant on Friday, a BSP press release informed.
The visiting team comprised RS Manjula Rangarajan, Additional Member (Finance), Railway Board, OP Khare, Additional Member (Railway Stores) , Railway Board, Neelmani, Executive Director (Track-1) RDSO and BP Awasthi, Executive Director Track (P), Railway Board who visited Bhilai Steel Plant.
On reaching Bhilai Niwas, the visiting dignitaries were received by senior officers of Bhilai Steel Plant. The visitors later planted saplings in the premises of Bhilai Niwas.
The senior officials from Indian Railways were also received at Ispat Bhavan, Bhilai by AK Rath, CEO, BSP upon their arrival. After that they attended an overview presentation on Bhilai Steel Plant. The visitors were introduced to the process of steel making and the many facets of Bhilai Steel Plant through the presentation.
BP Nayak, ED (F&A), AK Kabisatapathy, ED (Projects), SK Khairul Basar, ED (MM), KK Singh, ED (P&A), General Managers and senior officials of the plant were present.
Thereafter, the top officials of Indian Railways visited the Safety Excellence Center "Suraksha Kavach" established by the BSP near the Main Gate to promote safety.
The team visited the main production units — Coke Oven Battery-11, the Converter and Bloom Castor at SMS-2, Plate Mill, Visitors Gallery of Rail and Structural Mill and Long Rail Complex and took keen interest in the Plant production process. Later in the afternoon, the senior Railways officials visited "Mahamaya" Blast Furnace-8, SMS-3 and Universal Rail Mill. Senior officers of Bhilai Steel Plant were present.
