Almost twenty two months after assuming office, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has set at rest the speculations on Saturday when he announced names of the position holders on 14 posts. Senior BJP leader Vijay Barthwal has been made the chairperson of Uttarakhand State Women’s commission. Barthwal was expected to be accommodated since she was denied the Assembly ticket from Yamkeshwar Assembly segment in 2017 despite being a sitting MLA.
The party had fielded Ritu Khanduri, daughter of former Chief Minister B C Khanduri, from the constituency who had won.
The Chamoli district BJP president Mohan Prasad Thapliyal has been appointed the president of Badri Kedar temple committee. Similarly, Kedar Joshi has been bestowed with the position of chairman of the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN. Mahavir Singh Rangad has been appointed chairman of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN).
Senior BJP leader and general secretary, Naresh Bansal would be the new deputy chairman of state level twenty-point programme implementation committee.
Another party general secretary Gajraj Bisht has been made the deputy chairman of Uttarakhand Agricultural Produce Marketing Board. Besides, Gyan Singh Negi has been made the deputy chairman of State Rural Health Advisory Council while Shamsher Singh Satyal would be the chairman of Contract Labour Advisory Board.
The State Government has made Dr Vinod Arya the deputy chairman of Uttarakhand Animal Welfare Board while Dipti Rawat Bhardwaj would be the deputy chairperson of Committee for up-gradation of higher education.
Noted physician and recipient of Padmashree, Dr R K Jain has been made chairman of Minorities Commission while Shameem Alam has been appointed chairman of Uttarakhand State Haj Committee. Theatre personality Ghananand has been appointed the deputy chairman of Uttarakhand Sanskriti Sahitya Evam Kala Parishad. Similarly, the post of chairman of Social Welfare monitoring committee has gone to Rajesh Kumar.
Position holders meet CM
After declaration of the names, all the position holders called upon the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat at his residence and expressed their gratitude. Congratulating them, CM said that he is confident that all of them would bring an impetus to the development of the State with their efficiency and dedication.
