The Odisha Assembly of Small and Medium Enterprises (OASME), Cuttack in association with the Hoopoo Overseas Private Limited, Bhubaneswar, organised a workshop entitled “Next 2 Plastics” on Saturday.
It was largely attended by the MSME entrepreneurs engaged in plastics activities from all over the State.
During the inaugural ceremony, Er Satwik Swain, secretary general of OASME said that due to ban of plastics near about 500 MSEs of the State have closed down their units and the entrepreneurs are seating idle.
As a responsible apex MSME association, it is the moral duty of OASME to extend support and guidance to the MSEs to overcome from such a crisis.
Hoopoo Overseas Private Limited MD Monalisha Mohapatra said they would market the raw material of the alternative plastic in Odisha.
HS Kang and Vinod Manchanda, representatives of Indian Business Associate of Biotrack International Private Limited of South Koria, appraised in detail about how the alternative items will be manufactured within a short period by using Korean technology without any pollution.
They informed that the uniqueness of their products is they are compostable within 180 days and eco friendly.
Zonal General Manager, NSIC Limited, Bhubaneswar Sanjaya Kumar Rautela described in detail about different schemes of Government of India through which affected MSMEs can survive easily and re-start their units.
Director, EP and M, Odisha Saran Kumar Jena inaugurated the workshop as chief guest. Chairman of OASME Gauri Sankar Dash presided.
