Notification has been issued regarding the appointment of Hyderabad High Court Justice Ramesh Ranganathan as the next chief justice of Uttarakhand High Court. Further, Uttarakhand High Court justice VK Bist will be the next chief justice of Sikkim high court, as per the notification issued.
The Uttarakhand High Court registrar general, Pradeep Pant, informed that notification to this effect had been issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice on Wednesday. The said gazette notification has been signed by the Ministry’s joint secretary Rajinder Kashyap. On Wednesday, a large number of advocates met Bist and congratulated him on his new appointment.
It will be recalled that the names of Ranganathan and Bist were recommended earlier on October 9 by the three-judge collegium headed by Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi.
