MHA reshuffle: Varsha Joshi named NMC Commissioner

nIn a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday transferred  Principal Secretary of Transport Department, Varsha Joshi as Commissioner of North Delhi Municipal Corporation(NMC).

Varsha Joshi is an Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer of 1995 batch and belongs to Arunachal, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre.

With her transfer, she has replaced Madhup Vyas, IAS, AGMUT cadre of 2000 batch. However, there was no clarity about the new posting of Madhup Vyas the outgoing Commissioner.

Similarly, Dilraj Kaur has been appointed as the Commissioner of East Delhi Municipal Corporation replacing Puneet Kumar Goel, an IAS of 1991 batch of the same cadre.

The ministry has also requested Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) to issue

the necessary Gazette Notification regarding the same at the earliest.
