Mayor Swati Sadanand Godbole launched mobile application ‘Chalo App’ of Jabalpur city transport service limited (JCTSL) to make the travelling of the passengers of the city easier using public transport.
Passengers would not require waiting for buses at bus stops as with the use of the ‘Chalo App’ live update of location of bus would be obtained which would work based on GPS.
It would provide current location and next stoppage of the bus.
With the new app ‘mobile pass’ was also launched which could be available through ‘Chalo App’ and would make passenger free from carrying ‘bus pass’ in physical form every time as it would be updated in ‘Chalo App’.
The passenger would not require visiting center for making bus pass and save time standing in long queues.
The mobile pass has to be shown to the bus conductor and for making it more feasible the mobile pass could be accessed off line which is good factor helping the passengers as many times there are network issues which might make accessing mobile pass online difficult.
Apart from this for the first time in the country JCTSL would be the first to provide which would provide bus pass for one month, three days and seven days along with monthly bus pass.
These kinds of bus passes are only provided in developed countries.
Low cost and convenient bus pass service provided by JCTSL has been made to encourage public transport which is beneficial for environment and help in decongesting traffic.
Announcement of 90 new buses was also made at the occasion of launch of the apps.
