In a major rejig in the Punjab Police Department, the State Government on Wednesday transferred 14 Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) among the total 30 IPS and PPS officers.
The Government issued transfer or posting orders of as many 18 IPS and 12 PPS officers with immediate effect.
Among the districts that will get the new police chiefs include Jalandhar Rural, Patiala, Bathinda, Fazilka, Faridkot, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr), Khanna, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Batala, Mansa, Kapurthala, Rupnagar (Ropar), Sangrur, and ludhiana (Rural).
Jalandhar Rural SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, who led the team to nab notorious gangster Dilpreet Baba a couple of days ago, has been posted as AIG Counter Intelligence. He was replaced by PPS officer Navjot Singh, who was serving as Khanna SSP.
Among the IPS officers, Swapan Sharma has been posted as Ropar SSP, Dr Nanak Singh as Bathinda SSP, Deepak Hilori as SBS Nagar SSP, Sandeep Garg as Sangrur SSP, Dhruv Dahiya as Khanna SSP, Gulneet Singh Khurana as Fazilka SSP.
PPS officers, who have been posted as SSPs, include Swarandeep Singh (Batala), Satinder Singh (Kapurthala), Varinder Singh Brar (ludhiana Rural), Mandeep Singh
Sidhu (Patiala), Manjit Singh Dhesi (Sri Muktsar Sahib), Mandheer Singh (Mansa), and Raj Bachan Singh Sandhu (Faridkot).
Besides, Jaskaran Singh has been posted as IGP Punjab Police Academy, Surjit Singh as AIG Crime, S Boopathi as AIG Vigilance Bureau, Sukhminder Singh Mann as AIG (SSOC), Amritsar, besides the additional charge of AIG Counter Intelligence Amritsar.
Naveen Singla has been posted as AIG SB-I, Patil Ketan Baliram as Commandant fifth IRB, Amritsar, Gaurav Garg as AIG SPU, Akhil Chaudhary as Commandant 36th Battalion PAP Bahadurgarh, Charanjit Singh as SP SPU, Bhagirath Singh Meena as SP SPU and Gaurav Toora as ADCP headquarters Amritsar.
Among the PPS officers, Opinderjit Singh Ghuman has been transferred to the post of Commandant 27th battalion PAP Jalandhar with additional charge of AIG OCCU Jalandhar. PPS officer Sushil Kumar has been posted as AIG Crime Punjab, Parambir Singh Parmar as Commandant ninth battalion PAP Amritsar, and Sandeep Kumar Sharma as AIG Personnel-III, CPO Punjab.
