BR life, a leading healthcare services firm, has acquired Odisha’s first super-specialty corporate health centre, Kalinga Hospital in Bhubaneswar, for about Rs 200 crore.
The acquisition process that had commenced on January 30 has been completed, according to Kalinga Hospital CEO Dr Alok loodh.
Kalinga Hospital, the first multispecialty with super speciality corporate hospital in Odisha, was bought at an estimated amount around Rs 200, sources said.
The BR life, owned by Padma Shri Dr BR Shetty who is the founder-chairman of the NMC Healthcare, aims to expand its healthcare services in Odisha. It is planning to set up multiple hospitals as well as to take over various hospitals for providing better services to 20,000 patients across India, sources said.
The Kalinga Hospital is built in an area of 10 acres of land, allotted by the Odisha Government, in the year 1990. The hospital, set up by 54 non-resident Odias under the name of the Hospital Corporation of Orissa (HCO), a company registered in the US, was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Biju Patnaik.
