Uttarakhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCCPCR) chairperson Usha Negi along with some members of the commission met the women inmates who are living with their children at the jail at Sudhowala on Wednesday. She stressed on the women and the children being provided with nutritious food and education.
After the inspection, Negi said that she was happy over the facilities the jail administration is giving to the inmates, particularly, to the women who are living with their children. “The jail has proper arrangements for women as well as for their children. The children are getting two litres of milk every day. Besides, under the skill development programme, the women inmates are being given proper training in beautician course, pickle making, fashion designing and several others. The inmates are happy as they are engaged in so many programmes. The environment is healthy for living," she said.
Shailendra Shekhar Kargeti, Sharda Tripathiand Kamini Gupta were other members of the team which inspected the jail.
