Govt elevates 12 IPS officers to DIG rank

The Chhattisgarh Government on Tuesday promoted  12 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG).

Those promoted also include 5 Superintendent of Police (SPs) posted in different districts. It has been taken in a  routine way.

Notably, Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand on Tuesday chaired a meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC).Director General of Police (DGP) AN Upadhyay and Principal Secretary Home BVR Subramanian were present in the meeting, officials informed.

The meeting approved the promotions of police officials-- all of whom are of 2004 batch.

The officials who were promoted include- Neha Champawat, Abhishek Pathak, Ankit Garg, Ajay Yadav, Badri Prasad Mina, Dl Manhar, RS Nayak, GS Darro, SC Dwivedi, JS Vatti, AR Korram and RP Sai.

The  official Ankit Garg is currently on deputation at the Centre hence he was given Proforma Promotion.
