While delivering the valedictory address at the Gyan Kumbh at which ended here on Sunday, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath invoked the Ram Mandir issue and said that the people would soon receive some good news about the long-awaited construction of the temple in Ayodhya.
He urged every Indian to light an earthen lamp on Diwali, praying for the construction of the temple. He said he would visit Ayodhya on November 6 for the Deepotsav.
“Kumbh means congregation for a spiritual purpose. This is a gift of India to the world. Gyan Kumbh means sifting the true from the false education and take it to the people,” he said. Stressing on the Indian traditions, the UP CM said that education as envisaged by ancient India helps the students free themselves. “But the present education system is leaving them slaves,” he said. Without naming JNU, he said that there is a university where Ravana is glorified whereas every Indian celebrates the victory of truth over evil.
Dwelling on the greatness of the Indian culture, he said, “We should be proud of the knowledge our great ancestors bequeathed to us. We should not get away from our culture and tradition. India had given the world the knowledge of the laws of motion, the value of zero, decimal centuries ago. We must link our culture and knowledge to our curriculum in some form,” he said.
He said that it was the Indian mathematicians and scientists who enlightened the world on science and mathematics in the past. “But others were later credited with them,” he said.
He asserted that the world must look to India for the ultimate knowledge. “We must prepare ourselves for the consummation and to make it possible, the education system here must be revamped. However, it is wrong to look to the Government alone only for the change,” he said.
