At present there is no permanent distribution network of filtered water in the area. Water is being supplied through tankers and existing tube wells. Residents of these areas are facing acute shortage of drinking water due to poor quality of water in some tube wells.

Area is thickly populated with narrow lanes and tankers are also not approachable in many parts.

After the implementation of the project a population of about 36,000 individuals will be benefitted.

Moving a step forward in the direction of increasing the availability of water for the residents of Delhi, the Board had earlier decided to rejuvenate 93 water bodies within the city. In Monday’s meeting, it was decided to further speed up the project by approving the consultancy services of IIT Delhi for preparation of a feasibility report, detailed project report and tender documents for the rejuvenation of these water bodies.
