CPI Marxist leninist (Red Star) politburo member and West Bengal’s most wanted Alik Chakraborty was on Thursday arrested from a private hospital here in a joint raid by Odisha and West Bengal police.
Chakraborty, was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in the capital city.
Sources said Chakraborty managed to give a slip to West Bengal police and was evading arrest for the last two years.
He was the brain behind a massive protest and unrest in Bhangar in West Bengal over the acquisition of land for a power grid project.
According to police, at least 70 cases are pending against him at different police stations in West Bengal.
