To empower its employees and the general public, the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has come up with a mobile application ‘Jan Shakti’.
The application, inaugurated by Union Power Ministry secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla, empowers employees by giving them access to details of their salary, GPF/CPF, besides other personal and official details along with the telephone directory, calendar, office orders and social networking links.
Apart from this, BBMB employees and the general public will have access to technical information or data relating to BBMB’s power and irrigation systems, that is project-wise generation details, reservoir levels, water releases, rainfall in catchment areas for the past many years will be accessible to users by use of this mobile app.
Union Power Ministry’s Joint Secretary (Hydro) Archana Agrawal and BBMB Chairman DK Sharma were also present during the inauguration ceremony held at New Delhi.
The BBMB has also decided to ‘go-live’ on the same day on the implementation of e-Office system—a mission mode project of National e-Governance Programme of the Union Government resulting in transparency, effectiveness and openness in Governance.
