‘Jagdalpur-Raoghat rail project to open new doors for development’

Chief Minister Raman Singh on Friday said that the Jagdalpur-Raoghat rail project under implementation will open new doors for development in Bastar region.

Addressing a massive public meeting here as part of the 'Atal Vikas Yatra', he said that in the current era, a country's image enhances with development and expansion of rail network.

This is a historic day for Jagdalpur and a new chapter in history is being created, the Chief Minister said. Baster is entering the era of Education Hub, Medical College and Nagarnar Steel Plant, he said.

New industrial units and their ancillaries will come up in the region and there would be 10 times more development when the rail line comes up, he said.

The Chief Minister on the occasion carried out bhumi pujan and inaugurated the 140 kms rail line project work.The total cost of the  project is Rs 2528 crore and is part of 235 kms of Dallirajhara-Jagdalpur rail line project.

The first phase of project from Dallirajhara to Raoghat is of 95 kms and the train services from Dallirajhara to Bhanuprapatpur has already commenced.

The Chief Minister on the occasion also inaugurated road broadening work of Bedma-Dahikonga to Jagdapur part of national highway.
