Helicopter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was involved in a scare on Tuesday as smoke was noticed leaking from communication battery bag in the chopper.
The incident occurred during the Chief Minister’s visit to Adilabad district when the helicopter was about to leave Karimnagar for Peddapally this morning.
After the alert security personnel noticed the smoke they immediately removed the bag from the chopper and dumped it a deserted place at the helipad in Karimnagar.
later the Chief Minister left in the helicopter continuing his visit of Adilabad district. Security officials heaved a sigh of relief that the smoke was noticed before the helicopter took off. Overheating was the cause of the smoke, a senior official said.
K Taraka Ramarao, Senior Minister and son of the Chief Minister reacting to the reports tweeted that everything was alright. “Just checked up with CMO team. All is well with the Hon’ble CM and he is continuing his tour in Adilabad district”, he tweeted.
