Regularisation of 32 illegal colonies in Gurugram soon

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has proposed the names of around 32 illegal colonies to the State Government for regularisation.

The proposal for regularisations had been moved last year and as per the Government process, these colonies will be regularised within the next few months. The move is expected to provide relief to lakhs of residents living in these unauthorised colonies.

The MCG will approve these colonies along with their respective Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) so that development money can be sent to their accounts. The RWAs will then be able to develop their respective colonies in a more efficient manner.

"Residents and RWAs of the unauthorised colonies will have to bear fifty percent of the development charge for the colonies and the government will approve a loan for the remaining amount," said officials.

The Corporation will provide basic amenities like electricity, water, streetlights, roads and sewage disposal system in these colonies.

The MCG officials said the residents of the 32 colonies, after being regularized can deposit the nominal development charges to the corporation, after which they can avail the services provided by the municipal corporation.

"The colonies which will be regularised will have to pay development charge of Rs 150 per square yard and in future, it will be around 1 thousand to 1500 per square yard," said Sudhir Chauhan, Senior Town Planner, MCG.

The list of colonies which have been proposed for regularisation includes Basai Enclave-2, Chandan Vihar, Area around Saria Alawardi Village, Ganga Vihar, Area around Choma Village, Ratan Vihar phase-II, Vishnu Garden part-II, Amanpura Colony, Shiv Nagar, Basai Enclave Ext, Saraswati Enclave Ext, Krishna Nagar, Surya Vihar, Area around Gurugram Village, Part-I & II, Ashok Vihar, Phase-II Extension, Ramgarh ki Dhani, Area around Pawala Khusrupur Village, Nihal Colony, Area around Badshahpur Village, Part-I & II, Saini Khera, Sahib Kunj, Prem Puri Jharsa, Part-I & II, Area Hans Enclave, Nitin Vihar, Area around Bengumpur Khatola Village, Rajeev colony, Area around Samaspur Village, Area around Wazirabad Village, Area around Nathupur Village, Area around Islampur Village, Area around Gwal Pahari Village.

lately, around 15 colonies in the city had received sanctions from the state government. These colonies were Cancon Enclave, Shri Ram Colony, Devilal Colony Extn, New Jyoti Park, Hari Nagar Extn, Harsaru Village, Patel Nagar Extn, Vikas Nagar, Surat Nagar Phase-I Extn, Teekri Village, Bhim Colony, Patel Nagar Extn ward 18, Ghasola Village, Jharsa Village Extn and Naharpur Rupa Village.

"Recently passed colonies had some basic amenities problems like water, road and electricity but the issued has been resolved. Once we received a notification of the 32 illegal colonies the development work will be done as per the requirement," Chauhan, said.
