An FIR has been registered at the Punjabi Bagh police station following a complaint from the CBSE about a boy impersonating another student to give the Class XII Geography examination, police said on Monday.
A senior police officer said, “We have registered an FIR under IPC sections 419 (Punishment for cheating by impersonation), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (Using as genuine a forged document) and 120B (Punishment of criminal conspiracy) at the Punjabi Bagh Police station.”
The officer said, “On March 17, Class XII students had their Geography Board examination. The incident was reported from the Hansraj School in Punjabi Bagh area. In the Room no 102-Y, one of the invigilators, Yogesh Sharma had suspicion on one of the examinees. When he raised a question, the student started arguing. Following which Sharma called the school head. After questioning, the student identified himself as Krishna however; the name on his Admit Card was of Akshay Khanna.”
The school administration then informed the CBSE and the police. A team from the Punjabi Bagh police station reached the school and took the boy for questioning. The boy, Krishna informed that he was given money to sit for the examination.
Police said that they are trying to nab the real student who gave his admit card to the boy to give his board examination.
