DU third cut-off list sees marginal dip in percentages

The third cut-off list for Delhi University (DU) admissions saw a marginal drop in the percentage as compared to the second cut-off. While the admissions in courses like BA (Hons) Economics, BA (Hons) English, BCom (Hons), BCom etc. are closed at many well-known DU colleges, an average marginal dip of .25 to .50 per cent is observed in many subjects compared to the second cut-off.

While in language courses like BA (Hons) Urdu and BA (Hons) Sanskrit, average dip of 5 per cent is observed at many colleges offering these courses.

At Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), admissions are now closed for both B.A (Hons) Economics and B.Com (Hons) for the general category of students. Opportunities are still there for the reserved categories like OBC, SC and ST but BA (Hons) Economics is closed for the SC category while BCom (Hons) is closed for ST category.

In Hindu College, a dip of .25 per cent is observed in B.A (Hons) Economics as compared to that of second cut-off. While 97.50 per cent is the cut-off for the economics, it is 96.75 percent for B.A (Hons) English. A dip of 75 per cent is observed in English as compared to the second cut-off. Admissions in BA (Hons) Sociology, BA (Hons) Hindi, BA (Hons) Philosophy are now closed for the general category of students in the college.

In Jesus and Mary College, cut-off percentage for B.Com (Hons) is 96.25 while B.Com is at 95.75 in the third cut-off list. While admissions are closed for courses like Economics (H) , English (H) and BA Programme.

In Ramjas College, 97 per cent is the cut-off for admission to BA (H) Economics which is .25 per cent lower as compared to that of second cut-off. For BA (H) English, it is 95.75 per cent in as compared to 96 per cent in the second cut-off. While 95.50 and 95.75 per cent are the cut-off percentage for BA (H) History and BA (H) Political Science, which is a dip of .75 and .5 per cent respectively as compared to that of second cut-off. Admissions against courses like B.Com (Hons) and BA(Hons) Sanskrit are now closed at Ramjas.

At Gargi College, a dip of .50 per cent is observed in both BA (Hons) Economics and BA (Hons) English course as compared to the second cut-off. In the third list, cut-off percentage for Economics (H) is at 96 per cent while English (H) is at 94.50 per cent.

However, admissions for B.A (Hons) Political Science which were closed in the second cut-off at Gargi College have been reopened with 94 per cent as the benchmark in the third cut-off — a dip of 1 per cent against to the first cut-off.

At Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, the third cut-off percentage for B.Com (Hons.) is at 95.25 while B Com is at 94.50.

Also the first cut-off for the Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB) of Delhi University (DU) was announced on Friday, with the highest for B.Com at 85 per cent at both Hansraj College and Miranda House. It is 5 per cent lower to the highest cut-off observed last year.

For B.Com, lowest cut-off is at 77 per cent for Aditi Mahavidyalaya and Bhagini Nivedita College.In the third cut-off admissions are closed for BA (Hons) Economics and BA Programme for general category of students. Also at Satyawati College admissions are closed in BA (Hons) Economics, BA (Hons) History, B.A (H) Political Science and BA (Hons) Sanskrit.

Similarly for B.A (programme) at NCWEB, the cut-off remained the highest for Hansraj College and Miranda College at 78 per cent for both, which is 10 per cent less than the highest cut-off observed last year. While it remained lowest at 72 per cent at both Aditi Mahavidyalaya and Bhagini Nivedita College.
