Some women of Mayapur where the municipal corporation had recently demolished a few houses during an anti-encroachment drive took to the streets on Monday and vented their anger against the local MlA Madan Kaushik who is also the state urban development minister. They assembled outside the corporation office soon after the office opened. They said that those whose houses have been demolished in the name of anti-encroachment drive should be rightly rehabilitated.
Naresh Sharma, a close aide of Madan Kaushik, said that very few houses had been demolished during the drive and those affected by it would be given residential facilities in Pandeywala. He said the minister has already ordered for their shifting to Pandeywala. No more anti-encroachment drive would be carried out in the area, assured Sharma.
