VMP urges CM to dismiss Surya Prakash Meena

Tuesday, 21 March 2017 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Vichar Madhya Pradesh (VMP), a non-political movement started by some intellectuals, politicians and social activists alleging corruption charges against Minister for Horticulture and Food Processing (independent charge) Surya Prakash Meena demanded from Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to dismiss him from the Cabinet.

VMP’s Akshay Hunka, former MlA Paras Saklecha, Vinayak Parihar and former IPS Vijay Vate addressing media persons here on Monday said that despite central Government instructions and announcement in the state assembly minister Meena set aside all rules and regulations to provide benefits to his favorite trader.

Saklecha said, “Minister Meena in order to provide benefit to his trader friend Sanjay Parsai who owns messers Narmada Marketing got orders worth `10 crore for him through MP Agro against rules.”

The VMP presented letter of Principal Secretary (PS) of the department Ashok Varnwal in support of its allegations. The letter of the PS dated August 2, 2016 clearly says that no material would be bought from MP Agro Industries limited or someone else.

Saklecha said that on December 8, 2016 replying to BJP MlA Anil Firojiya question during call attention Meena referring the instructions of the central government told the state assembly that freeing departmental schemes from direct beneficiary transfer (DBT) is not in the interest of the farmers of state.

Firojiya had alleged in that call attention that when DBT is implemented than why the orders to purchase potatoes and coriander were provided to two companies, isn’t this corruptionIJ In reply the state minister clearly said that enquiry of the issue would be carried out.

He said on January 30, 2017 Directorate of Horticulture  through a letter that goes against the announcement made in the assembly said that purchase of vegetables, seeds and other material would be done through MP Agro. VMP wishes to know as what were the interests in flouting central government directives for benefitting a company by freeing DBT, he added.
